L.A. Noire? Fuck Yeah!

Have you played this yet? It's been out a couple of weeks and if you havn't yet, go to your local whoever sells video games and get one. Now. Seriously, this game is one that is quite original, at least for a video game and uses cutting edge technology for some of the gameplay. 30 camera's or something to film the actor's faces so when your interrogating suspects or whoever, they have subtle ways of saying different things and you have to decide whether or not they're lying.

I almost finished this game after a couple of days and there would be those people who it takes like a day, but I have stopped at the moment because I want to enjoy the more simple parts of the game. Like just walking around and looking at Downtown LA in the 40's.

It's quite amazing actually.

L.A. Noire also uses some of Hollywood for the characters in the game including John Noble of Fringe, Greg Grunberg of Alias and Heroes and the main guy is from Mad Men, but I don't know his name. This adds to the fun a little bit looking for people you might recognise.

The storyline follows the young Detective Phelps as he makes his way through Traffic, Homicide, Vice and Arson. This is not the exact type of game we have come to expect from Rockstar's open world games as you cannot just roam around and do whatever the fuck you want. If you drive into a pedestrian, they will jump out of the road. It continues to use side mission and hidden stuff and most of the side missions do tie into the main story of the game. It is also a game where you actually have to pay attention to whats happening. Ask me what happened in Modern Warfare and I'd have no fucking idea.

Phelps and his partner on the job.

Phelps is also a decorated United States Marine who won a Silver Star in the War. If you're familiar with the Black Dahlia murder, that also plays a big part in the game. Along with an opiate robbery from a war ship and people Phelps knows from the service.

The graphics are amazing and its a fully explorable 1940's Los Angeles. Well, Downtown, Wilshire and Hollywood anyway. This game was also made in Australia so, Go Aussies! and they are already looking at making a sequel.

All in all the game plays like a movie as it's very cinematic but some parts are a bit slow. It's a very slow burning game. It's not really a game you can just sit down and play for 10 minutes while you wait for your mum to make you a sandwich. Another masterpiece from the dudes and chicks at Rockstar Games.

Do not fuck with me.
