Wonder Woman is Dead! The Pilot, Anyway

The David E. Kelley Wonder Woman pilot is dead, fucked, kaput. I for one, wasn't expecting much from the creator of such critical masterpieces as Ally McBeal and Boston Public. But apparently, insider buzz says it wasn't all bad, basically just not the direction NBC wanted to go with it. Fair enough, maybe next year someone else will have a crack at it. I'd pick Bad Robot Productions, it seems to have its web spun all over the networks and box office.

Being owned by J.J. Abrams, Bad Robot Productions has produced Mission: Impossible III and it's follow up, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Star Trek, Cloverfield and Super 8 for the talkies and Lost, Alias, Fringe, Undercovers, the fuck-tastic Felicity and the upcoming Person of Interest for CBS and Alcatraz for Fox.  J.J. knows his female characters after Felicity and Alias and he would do Wonder Woman justice I reckon.

A little angry.

Of course there are many people who would be suitable to give Wonder Woman a go. I don't mean Superman, I mean like for the screen. I'd be interested to see Joss Whedon's script he did for the proposed movie a couple of years ago, it might work better as a series. But from what I've read, the problem wasn't the script, (after a complete re-write) it was some of the actors. Cary Elwes as whoever the fuck was hamming it up while the rest of the actors played it straight and the love interest was like watching cardboard.

Hearts Wonder Woman

So anyhoo, not having seen it, I can't poke to much fun at it and unless they say 'Fuck it' and release the unfinished pilot, no-one outside the industry will. It took a few go's to get Hawaii Five-0 back on the air and maybe the case is the same for Wonder Woman.

Maybe the most we can hope for is a spin off of Smallville in the form of Green Arrow or Justice League.

I don't care, just put her back on TV.
